Q - What type of
fish can we catch ?
A - We catch many different types of fish, most commonly Sharks,
Sailfish, Barracuda, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel, Snapper Grouper and many
more.
Q - What are the
chances of a successful charter?
A - Depending on the conditions of the water, and many other factors,
we will discuss with you the options that would be more productive. There
are many different types of fishing, and we can do more than one type
in
a half day charter.
Q - Does the boat
still go fishing even on rainy days?
A - We fish rain or shine, (the fish still have
to eat), even when the forecast calls for rough seas, that usually
means way off shore, and we
fish within three miles of shore, so always call the captain if in
doubt.
Q - Why are the
Sport Fishing Charter Boats limited to six people?
A - This law is Mandated by the U.S. Coast Guard, we have no control
over this law, it doesn't matter how big the boat is, and it doesn't
matter if you have an infant on board. The law is the law.
Q-
What is the difference between a "sport fishing charter" and "deep sea fishing/drift fishing"?
A - A sportfishing charter is a very professional charter that consists
of a captain and a mate, and most often uses live bait. We troll and
kite fish, as well as wreck and bottom fish. We are moving constantly
to catch game fish and others. The sport fishing boats are limited
to six
persons and is more expensive than deep sea/drift fishing . Sport
fishing is more productive, as deep sea/drift fishing consist of just
drifting over wrecks with up to forty people on board. We wouldn't
recommend deep sea fishing for those prone to sea sickness as you will
be drifting the majority of the trip.
Q - Why do the
fishing rods site in the rod holders?
A - We have thousands of dollars of equipment on the boat. Most of
the reels we use are Penn Internationals, which are quite valuable,
not to
mention heavy. When a fish is on the line, a professional mate will
hook the fish and place the rod into the rod holder on your fighting
chair,
this way there will be no chance of you dropping your rod in the water
causing extra expense to you, and you will be more comfortable in your
fight of a lifetime.
Q - What happens if I
don't catch a fish?
A - With
every charter we take out, we try our very best to make it memorable
and successful.
However, there are times that the fish just don't want to eat or we
can't provide you with the exact fish you'd like to catch. After all,
that's why they call it "Fishing" and not
"Catching".
Q - How much gratuity do
I give the crew?
A - We like to think of
it like a restaurant, if you see that the crew is working hard, whether
you catch fish or not, and you are treated congenially, 15% to 20 % is
standard. |
